This local newspaper is called ‘Bracknell Forest Standard’ this is written at the top left of the page with the ‘Standard’ being the main focus of the newspapers name. ‘Bracknell Forest’ is written in white smaller lettering, this is done in a more formally style. Whereas ‘standard’ is written much bigger in block lettering, this style looks appealing to all generations. The name of the local newspaper is in a blue round border which makes it standout.
The colours which have been used on the front page of this local magazine are mainly black, blue and white. All these colours are quite simple but make the newspaper look fresh.
There are a few pictures featured on the front page. The main picture is of a young girl playing snooker. The picture looks bright however the border is plain and this makes the picture blend in. On my front page I want the pictures to stand out.
Because this is a local newspaper there is mainly text which makes the newspaper look serious and appeals mainly to the older generation. I want my local newspaper to also appeal to the younger generation. I will do this by adding more exciting pictures and slightly more colour.
Because this is a local magazine the layout is very busy with a lot going on. However I feel this local newspaper has been structured in a much organised manner.
