Analysis of a Local Newspaper Front Page:

This local newspaper is called ‘Bracknell and Wokingham Midweek’ this is written at the top left of the page with the ‘Midweek’ being the main focus of the newspapers name. ‘Bracknell and Wokingham’ are written in blue smaller lettering; however it’s still in the same style as ‘Midweek’ which has been written much bigger in black. The colours and style of writing suggest it is a serious magazine. And the colour scheme of the name fits in with the rest of the newspaper which suggests it’s not meant to stand out.

The colours which have been used on the front page of this local newspaper are mainly black, blue and red. With the plain white back ground. All these colours are quite simple with the red colour which is advertising a few items standing out the most.

There are a few pictures featured on the front page. The main picture is of a guinea pig. It’s not a very exciting picture but because it’s high lighted in red it makes it look more interesting. I will make my picture more interesting.

Because this is a local newspaper there is mainly text which makes the newspaper look serious and appeals mainly to the older generation. I want my local newspaper to also appeal to the younger generation.

Because this is a local magazine the layout is very busy with a lot going on.
